Lauren Baker created Rightwork Solutions in response to Regional Employers asking for clear, concise and affordable Workplace Relation, Investigations & HR Support.
A senior experienced practitioner, Lauren worked for seven years in a complex Employee Relations Specialist position and has over 13 years experience working in the field of human resources across a diverse range of business sectors including manufacturing, professional services, events, health & food / retail. These businesses were privately owned, publicly listed or government so she is familiar with the idiosyncrasies that each type of business brings. Lauren also served on the NFP Board for the Ballarat Business Centre, providing the primary HR expertise and learning a lot about the challenges that come with being a SME.
Lauren possesses outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities. It is these that allow her to build strong networks and rapport with others. These skills have assisted Lauren to become an effective workplace investigator, negotiator and advocate with an ability to diffuse conflict and communicate effectively with employees and unions.
With fair practise, communication and consultation, it is Lauren’s belief that most disputes can be worked through to a mutually agreeable outcome. In the event matters are escalated outside of the workplace, Lauren is an experienced industrial relations advocate before the Fair Work Commission with a proven ability to negotiate complex industrial relations matters including unfair dismissals. It is important to note that Lauren is not a lawyer and therefore her fees reflect this as a more cost effective option. In the rare event legal advice is required, Lauren will advise in advance and has a strong network of industry leading professionals she can engage or refer you to.
Lauren has significant experience investigating complex bullying, sexual harassment and misconduct complaints, many of which have been tested favourably in external industrial jurisdictions. She has a commitment to procedural fairness and sound decision-making, whilst also ensuring each matter is handled sensitively but decisively.
Residing in the bush near Ballarat with her family and two dogs, Lauren takes great joy in seeing regional businesses thrive and their people being happy in their workplace.
Lauren holds formal qualifications in business, investigations and training. She is recognised as a Professional Member (CAHRI) of the Australian Human Resource Institute and is a member of the Industrial Relations Society of Victoria.
